This Privacy Policy describes how FairFindR ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, progressive web app, or mobile application (collectively, the "Service") available at fairfindr.com.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

• Account information — when you create an account: your email address and optional display name, processed by Clerk (our authentication provider).
• Watchlist & price alerts — the products you choose to watch and the price thresholds you set.
• Push notification consent — if you opt in to push notifications, we store a device push token to deliver alerts you have requested.

b. Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data — pages visited, search queries entered, features used, and time spent on the Service.
• Device & connection data — browser type, operating system, device type, IP address (anonymised), and referring URL. On mobile apps: device model and OS version.
• Cookies & local storage — session tokens required for authentication and your stored preferences.

c. Information We Do Not Collect

• Payment or financial information (we do not process purchases)
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts, camera, microphone, or other device sensors
• Data from children under 13

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service
• To send price alert notifications you have explicitly requested
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session securely
• To analyse aggregate usage patterns and improve user experience
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may process data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, and web analytics. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and usage data per their Privacy Policy.
• Clerk — user authentication. Clerk stores email addresses and manages secure sign-in per their Privacy Policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for price alert notifications.
• Apify — web scraping infrastructure used to collect publicly available product pricing from bullion dealer websites. No user data is passed to Apify.
• Affiliate networks (Awin, CJ Affiliate) — when you click "Buy" links to dealer websites, affiliate tracking cookies may be set by the dealer's affiliate network. We earn a small commission at no cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

5. Data Sharing

We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

• With the third-party service providers listed above, solely to operate the Service
• If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
• In connection with a merger or acquisition, where the acquiring party agrees to honour this policy

We do not share personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

• Account data — retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
• Price alerts & watchlist — retained while your account is active and deleted with your account.
• Push tokens — retained until you unsubscribe from notifications or delete your account.
• Analytics data — aggregated and retained per Cloudflare's standard data retention schedule.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g., unsubscribe from push notifications)
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. How to Delete Your Account & Data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

1. Sign in to your account
2. Go to Settings → Account and select Delete Account
3. Confirm the deletion — all watchlist entries, price alerts, and notification preferences will be permanently removed

Alternatively, email privacy@fairfindr.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we will process your request within 30 days.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and use of established third-party authentication infrastructure (Clerk). No system is 100% secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@fairfindr.com.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@fairfindr.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
